Javier Padilla

Javier Padilla is a movement artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Starting his training at School for the Performing Arts under Waldo Gonzalez and Olaya Muentes in Puerto Rico and continuing his studies at Mason Gross School of the Arts. During his time at Mason Gross, Javier had the opportunity of working with artists such as Jessica Lang, Keith Thompson, Netta Yerushalmy, Joe Goode Performance Group, Randy James, Meghan Frederick, OcampoWang Dance and Bereishit Dance Company. His choreographic work has been presented at venues such as Dixon Place, Open Source Gallery, The Secret Theater, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Triskelion Arts, The Salvatore Capezio Theater, The Ailey Studios, Judson Memorial Church, Socrates Sculpture Park and the Inside/Out Stage at Jacob's Pillow.

Javier has been commissioned by several institutions including Bucknell University, West Chester University, Ballet Forte and will work with Wandering Movers this coming Fall of 2018. He has also been awarded a CUNY Dance Initiative Residency and Dance On The Lawn Montclair's New Jersey Emerging Choreographer Commission of 2018.  Javier is currently a Polestar Pilates Teacher trained under Kim Gibilisco at Rutgers University.
